Edunation was established in 2017, its aim is to completely change the education scene in Finland. Its first goal is to enroll 150 000 full degree students from non-EU/EEA countries in the Finnish higher education by 2025. They want to give students around the world the opportunity to experience high-quality Finnish education. Edunation helps students find their way into the world-renowned Finnish higher education. Their aim is to help international students with their application process and answer all questions they might have about living and studying in Finland. Through Edunation, students can enroll in full degree programs, participate in summer schools and exchange programs provided by Finnish universities.

How were things done before DreamApply?

Before we launched and implemented DreamApply, students applied directly on our “apply now” button, directing the student to our Jotform form online, applications were received via our e-mail system. We noticed the number of applications, inquiries among others were increasing, so we decided we really need an application management system that is easier to use but with more efficiency.  

Why did you decide to use DreamApply as your application management system?

As our needs on filing and processing of applications became more diverse and complex, and student applications continuously increased, we decided to tweak the system and incorporate a great functionality and feature that can merge on our needs and online resources.

How has DreamApply helped on your application management?

DreamApply is a unique management system feature for our students’ applications. Its user-friendly functionality and easy navigation features help our students on their application. We also need to diversify our online resources and the new application system where everybody (agents and students) will have an easier time following the status of their study in Finland application.

How have the results been with DreamApply?

The year 2018 was our first proper year recruiting students and we received a bit under 150 applications. We started using DreamApply at the beginning of 2019 and the number of applications has reached 1000. Without DreamApply we would have been lost with such an increase in applications. DreamApply makes it easier to process as well as keep tabs on the status of the applications.

Applicants as well as agencies can follow the progress of the applicants which wasn’t possible with our old application system. This has freed up our time, so we don’t need to inform the students manually about changes in their status. Our university partners have quickly learnt how to use the system and have find it useful that they can check weekly or even daily how many students have been accepted and how many have paid.

DreamApply configuration, usability and support: How do you find our Client Happiness team to be doing alongside the system’s general usability?

When you got the hang of it, DreamApply was really easy to use. The initial orientation was thorough, and it also helps that the system is intuitive.

By implementing DreamApply, we have managed working better on application processing. DreamApply really helped us on providing a search tool to our programs for our agents and students, globally. Students will apply through the system, browse through different programs, check the status of their application and submit missing documents. A simple yet perfect online tool!

I have only good things to say about the customer support. They are quick to respond, and I feel that my suggestions and feedback are being heard. I can’t wait to see what new features they will come up with!
